After a Office Disaster

  • Stay away from disaster areas for you might hamper rescue process or emergency repair work. Especially avoid damaged power lines. Do not hesitate to report any destruction. It would be a mistake to assume that since it’s relatively obvious emergency agents would most likely know about it without anyone’s warning.
  • Examining buildings use flashlights only. Matches or any other open flame can cause an explosion in case if there is a gas leak inside, or by a physical contact with any flammable materials.
  • Consider stream water to be contaminated unless you were specifically told otherwise by official Red Cross agent or your local authorities. Do not drink floodwater. In case you have absolutely nothing to drink the bottom line would be to use water heaters and melted ice cubes. It is extremely important to stay calm and keep planning in advance rather you’re in extreme danger or the situation seem to be stabilized. Another words start asking yourself what will you drink in a few hours while waiting for a rescue even if experiencing emotional shock you’re not thirsty at the moment. Carefully distribute your water supplies and purify water beforehand taking all precautions possible. If purifying tools or tablets are not available water at least needs to be thoroughly cleaned though clean peace of cloth and when sustained boiled for about 5 minutes minimum.
